The new year got off to a fun start with riders taking part in a number of different races around Wisconsin and Mississippi.

Gryphon Velo Racing is welcoming a number of new riders to our roster this. Two of them (Jon Lester and Gabby Wrightsman) logged their first races with the team on fat bikes (and with cornhole bags)

While there are still a smattering of races in December, here’s a quick look back at some of the numbers for the team over the 2022 seasons, plus leaders in starts, podiums and wins.

From short sleeves ad severe thunderstorms early in November and full winter gear and snow at the Wisconsin State CX Championships, November was quite the month of racing for GVR members.

The team rounded out the Wisconsin ‘cross season with riders taking a number of overall series results, and with one scoring their first CX win. Oh, and there was a baby.

October was largely about cyclocross, and boy did the team cyclocross hard with the high point being Trek Cup where riders picked up some nice finishes and had a lot of fun.

Mountain bike, a little bit of road and gravel weren’t left out of the month’s mix of events.

Looking back over the photos there was a lot of dirt nd mud in September.

The month started off with the last of the road race season before slipping into the first five cyclocross races and a number of late-season mountain bike races — including the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival.

August sure seemed to go quick, but it saw GVR riders active — and successful — in races from Michigan to Wisconsin and Indiana.

July was a busy month for the team with riders putting up results in everything from road and gravel to downhill mountain biking and the Door County Triathlon.

Looking back over the photos for the month, June was huge.

We had riders racing in and out of Wisconsin; on the road and on dirt; and at the Tour of America’s Dairyland. We also has a riders proving bike lead out for the Elite runners at the Bellin Run in Green Bay.

I’m not even sure where to start with this month of racing.

We had riders take stage wins and podiums at the La Crosse Omnium, as well as Matt Becker taking an overall victory in the three-day event. Devin Yoder scored his first career win at the Bear 100 and may of our usual (and not-so-usual) suspects put up some really nice results this month.

We had riders racing events from road and mountain bike to triathlons in more than a half dozen states the is past month.

After a two year break due to the pandemic, GVR Camp returned this year for three days of riding in and around Westby, Wisconsin.
