Weekend Snapshots: Copper Peak Trails Fest; Flyover Silver Creek CX

The first weekend of cyclocross racing in Wisconsin saw GVR riders turn in a number of very successful performances while one rider duked it out with a big hill in Michigan on her mountain bike and came away the winner.

A rundown of race results can be found here.

Cyclocross racing returns to Wausau on Sept. 16

Cross of the North returns to Wausau on Sept. 16 with a few new features including a slightly shorter course (that still includes sand and a runup), a DJ and, of course, furious cyclocross racing.

The three-year-old race is at Sunny Vale Park on the west side of the Wausau, the only Wisconsin Cycling Association CX race in central Wisconsin (and one of five outside of the Madison and Milwaukee markets). Cross of the north is one of the races that makes up the Hinterlands sub-series of cross races.

Pre-register for Cross of the North by Sept. 12 and save yourself $10 on registration ($25). Day-of-registration ($35) is available onsite.

You can register for the event here.
