From the somewhat-frozen mud of Chicagoland to the deserts of Arizona and the lakeshore of Wisconsin, GVR racers finished out to the 2021 season with some nice results.

November saw the team wrapping up a successful cyclocross campaign (with a few riders continuing to race at U.S. Cyclocross Nationals in December).

Among the highlights: the team had two riders take overall points titles in the Wisconsin Cycling Association CX series (and Derek Moran scored his first CX podium).

Whew. That was one active month with team members taking on full cyclocross schedules and junior riders active all over the state in the Wisconsin High School Cycling League.

We had riders racing in six states — from Utah to Arkansas up to the UP of Michigan – this month.

Almost as fast as widespread racing shutdown in the spring of 2020, it opened back up in September 2021.

GVR riders put up a lot of nice results in the past month, from cyclocross to endurance mountain bike events and Wisconsin High School Cycling League races.

That was a pretty busy month: Road racing, time trials, mountain bike races, Gravel Worlds and Tri Nationals.

We even did some messing around on ‘cross and track bikes.

July brought generally good weather and some racing.

We had junior riders land on the podium at the Wisconsin State Crit early in the month, with a number of team riders scoring wins and podiums at Wausau24 in late July.

Little by little racing is coming back.

Our riders put up some nice results on the tarmac, dirt and gravel over the past month — in addition to a lot of miles of intra-squad racing and riding.

With things stabilizing a little on the COVID-19 front, more race events are returning and more of our riders are heading to the start line (relative to the past 15 months).

We’re still getting in a lot of non-race miles too.

It was warm. It was cold. We rode bikes.

It’s what we do.

Well, the snow is largely gone and there were even a few almost-warm days. Signs that whatever the 2021 racing season is going to look like is getting a little closer!
