GVR riders had both dirt and tarmac covered this weekend in races from Kansas to the UP of Michigan. Riders brought home a nice assortment of hardware for the efforts, too!

GVR took advantage of a break in the dismal “spring” weather to conquer a couple off-road events in Wisconsin and Minnesota over the weekend. Oh, and the annual ride in Door County went off under sunny skies and warm weather.

It was a very soggy weekend in the Upper Midwest, but a few GVR riders managed to slip in some racing between rain drops.

That was one heck of a weekend featuring three days of great racing in the greater LaCrosse area of western Wisconsin.

In an annual tradition, GVR riders packed up and headed to Westby, Wisconsin, for three days of riding in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin (That means there are a lot of hills and valleys).
True to tradition, early season weather was a challenge (temps never got out of the 30s and there was plenty of snow on the roadsides), but roads were largely dry and the team crammed in a bunch of miles – and elevation gain – over the weekend. We also got a set of nice team photos.
We also had one rider at another spring classic, Barry-Roubaix, in Michigan on Saturday.

With cobbles and hard people of the peloton top of mind in the spring, a small group of GVR riders headed down to the Rough Road 100 mixed surface race in north central Illinois Saturday … then followed it up with more riding Sunday.
