Cold weather and a little bit of snow arrived just in time for weekend fat bikes at two Wisconsin venues.

After a two week break for the holidays, GVR racers were back to the start line of a pair of fat bike races Saturday in m-than-normal winter conditions. The team’s 2019 kit also arrived at many doorsteps Friday.

A new year and new season.
Gryphon Velo racing riders are already preparing for the 2019 campaign. Th team is looking forward to representing a full plate of team partners in the upcoming season.

We kinda hate to see 2018 go, it was a great season with a lot of individual and team achievements.
GVR riders racked up roughly 535 race and event starts during the year (unfortunately the number of starts and finishes don’t match, but they’re pretty close).

There was one last weekend of racing in 2018 this past week at U.S. Cyclocross Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. And, of course, it rained.

The team’s 2018 season is quickly winding down, but riders were out battling each other and the elements at the Midwest regional championships Saturday in the run-up to U.S. Cyclocross Nationals later this week.

Three of the worst weather races I have done have been WI State Championships. This year makes that list, but the mud was actually pretty fun to race in.

Snow continued to make racing in Wisconsin interesting this weekend while drier conditions were the name of the game at one of the season’s larger ‘cross events in Indianapolis Saturday and Sunday.
